Johnny Depp‘s divorce lawyer wants to know why Amber Heard has plenty of time to air her domestic violence claim in the press but no time to sit down for a deposition.
Laura Wasser, who is representing Depp in the divorce, claims that Heard is avoiding testifying under oath about Depp’s alleged history of violent behavior.

Lawyers for both actors were meant to sit down and hammer out a settlement today, ahead of the couple’s June 17 court date. When that didn’t work out, Wasser requested that Heard use the day to give her deposition instead. When the actress declined, saying she was not available, Wasser filed paperwork claiming that Heard should not be allowed to testify at the court appearance at all.
Heard claims that she is not available today because she is celebrating her friend (and witness, FYI) Raquel Pennington’s engagement and that she has no time between now and June 17 to give a deposition because she has to fly to London for a costume fitting for Justice League, not returning until Thursday night — too late to have it count for next Friday’s date.

Wasser and Depp scoffed at this excuse, saying that no one brought up the fitting before this and that it is no excuse to avoid answering questions about the very serious accusations Heard is leveling against Depp.
Heard’s lawyer is asking for the June 17 court date to be pushed back. Wasser wants phone records to prove whether texts purportedly between Heard and Depp’s assistant, which allegedly prove the abuse, were faked.
“[Heard] has tried her claims in the media. It is now time to do so in a court of law,” Wasser said.
