Photographs of Princess Charlotte are few and far between, so forgive us for getting a little bit excited about her appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the annual Trooping the Colour celebrations.

The youngest member of the royal family joined big brother Prince George, parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, uncle Prince Harry and others to watch a fly-by from Royal Air Force jets.
The annual event was part of the queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, and the monarch definitely stood out on the balcony in a neon green suit by British designer Stewart Parvin. Alas, she couldn’t quite take our attention away from Princess Charlotte, who was adorable as ever in a pink outfit with a matching bow in her hair.

The 1-year-old princess and her big brother, 3, seemed very taken with the display in the sky.
The Trooping of the Colour ceremony, also known as the queen’s birthday parade, dates back to Charles II’s 17th-century reign. The colours of a regiment were used as a rallying point in battle.
William and Kate have chosen to keep their children away from the media as much as possible to try to give them as normal an upbringing as they can. Saturday’s event was only Princess Charlotte’s third public appearance; her first was days after her birth and her second was her christening.
For fans of the royal family, a glimpse of the youngest royals is cause for celebration. Princess Charlotte and Prince George definitely didn’t disappoint on Saturday — and we’re pretty sure the queen didn’t mind sharing the limelight with her gorgeous great-grandchildren.
