Samantha Bee did not mince words when she addressed the Orlando massacre on her talk show, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. When she addressed the mass shooting in Orlando, Bee went straight past sadness and headed directly toward anger. In other words, she said everything we’ve wanted to say and she didn’t hold back.

Bee decided not to offer words of comfort or love, but instead offered up a persuasive (and awesome) call to action. “Love does not win unless we start loving each other enough to fix our f***ing problems,” she said. And Bee didn’t stop there. She wasted no time in taking on pro-gun politicians and their empty rhetoric of love and hope that typically comes after these tragedies.. Showing interview clips of former presidential hopeful Marco Rubio and Florida governor Rick Scott in which the politicians either ignore (Rubio) or dodge (Scott) the issue of gun control, Bee demanded that politicians stop spouting rhetoric and start taking action. “Stop thinking and do something to improve our society,” she said.

Bee’s message struck a chord on Twitter, with fans immediately jumping in to support her segment.
.@iamsambee's anger tonight on #FullFrontal is articulate and visceral. I'm brought to tears by it and am thankful for her voice and words.

And Bee didn’t just go after the politicians refusing to consider gun control, she also went after the guns themselves. Like many others have in the past few days, Bee noted that the AR-15, the automatic rifle model used in the Orlando shooting, was the same gun model used in the shootings in San Bernardino, California, and Newtown, Connecticut, among others. Bee is clearly sick of hearing about the AR-15, so much so that, in a moment that can only be described as sheer brilliance, she declared it a “high caliber penis substitute.”

Bee ended her segment doing what politicians like Scott and Rubio have told the public to do — she prayed: “Are you there, God? It’s me, Sam. Please bless the victims in this time of unspeakable pain… [and] please send the NRA a plague of boils, Amen.” Amen indeed.
