Yolanda Hadid isn’t the only Real Housewives member diagnosed with Lyme disease

Amber Marchese, a former cast member of TheReal Housewives of New Jersey, announced today that she has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. The 38-year-old told ET that she was officially diagnosed last week after noticing some symptoms for a couple of weeks. This makes her the second member of the Housewives franchise to have the disease.

Marchese said, “About two weeks ago, I had flu-like symptoms which included a low grade fever, headache, aches, chills, joint pain and awful neck pain. I posted my condition on social media and a friend suggested I get tested for Lyme disease. She shared with me her struggles with Lyme disease and we shared many of the same symptoms.”

As if that weren’t bad enough, Marchese is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. But thanks to that treatment, she was able to catch the disease early, making it possible for her to monitor the symptoms and not require treatment just yet.

Being able to catch the disease before it reached advanced stages, along with the lucky recommendation from Twitter, has helped Marchese maintain a positive outlook on her health. She swears by the power of positivity to aid her recovery.

She explained, “If I thought about the joint pain, then the pain increased. When I ignored it, got my butt to the gym, it went away. I believe in the power of the mind. You are sick if you want to be sick, you are well if you want to be well. That is just the way I choose to live my life.”

It sounds like she’s in a great place considering her circumstances, and at least she has her fellow Housewives member, Yolanda Hadid, to lean on and seek advice from, should she need it.
