All right, everyone, time to freak out: Supernatural‘s Sam really did get shot

It looks like Sam Winchester is going to start Supernatural Season 12 on the wrong foot. Remember how Season 11 ended with Toni Bevelle possibly shooting Sam in the Men of Letters bunker? According to Jared Padalecki, she definitely did.

While chatting with TV Line at the 2016 Saturn Awards Wednesday, Padalecki revealed, “She shot him. I don’t know where, but I know she shot him.” Great, Sam gets shot — again. If you recall, Sam also got shot earlier in Season 11, where he almost died. Thankfully, he didn’t, but I guess Sam getting shot is just a recurring theme.

Even Padalecki joked about it to TV Line and said, “What else is new — Sam gets injured. At least I’m not getting tortured — yet.” Yeah, fans shouldn’t dismiss the latter, because Sam rarely avoids pain or drama on the series, that’s for sure.

As for him getting shot, well, fans should try to remain somewhat calm, because that doesn’t mean Sam’s fate is sealed. He could easily survive a gunshot wound. Plus, maybe Toni’s shot doesn’t seriously injure him, but is more to scare him into doing what she wants. Whatever the case, I doubt that Sam is going to die from her shot in the Season 12 premiere.

Hey, this is the Winchesters we’re talking about. They’ve survived pretty much everything thrown at them, so I think Sam will come out of this situation alive.

Now, all fans have to worry about is Dean coming to Sam’s rescue, because it sure looks like his baby brother needs him. Though, I don’t know how quickly he will, especially with their mother, Mary Winchester, seemingly rising from the dead.

The upcoming season already sounds promising and filled with excitement. Too bad we have to wait until October.

Supernatural Season 12 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on The CW.
