Bethenny Frankel’s health scare is a much-needed reminder that she’s more than drama

Bethenny Frankel is a hard personality to take. She’s not difficult the same way Ramona Singer is, which is completely infuriating. But she does tend to yell quickly, say things without a filter and brush people off when she could show a little more patience. But all of those qualities faded away this episode and viewers were all reminded why Frankel is a fan favorite.

More: Well, Bethenny Frankel just got really real about her health issues

During tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York, Frankel was faced with the harsh reality of her health condition. Her doctor told her that in order for him to do the surgery she needed, she would have to have a living will. He was hoping to just remove her uterine fibroids, but because of the severity of her issues, he may have to do a hysterectomy and there’s a small chance that she could bleed to death.

Of course, this is tragic news for anyone to hear, but especially for Frankel, who has a very small inner circle, so she basically had to deal with it on her own. The episode showed her crying alone in the back seat of her car. The whole thing was heartbreaking.

It was a reminder that people usually act the way they do for a reason. Frankel has learned to be honest and aggressive because she’s had a very difficult past. She’s got the people who are supposed to be the closest to her, her mom and her estranged husband, the ones who are supposed to be looking out for her, totally screwing her over.

Not to mention, she’s creating a multi-million dollar company completely from scratch. You don’t get to where she is by being timid.

Watching her break down and not really have anyone to comfort her or even help her put her living will into place reminded me that we all should be a little kinder and more understanding to each other. You never know what kind of battle someone else is fighting.
