Move over, Beyoncé and Jay Z, and make room for the latest celeb couple with whom we’re about to become obsessed. Rihanna and Drake are dating again and, suddenly, everything is right in the world.
Forget all of that advice you hear about not dating your co-workers, because it turns out collaborating together is the best thing that has happened to Drake and RiRi. After Rihanna lent her pipes to Drake’s track “Too Good,” he returned the favor by collaborating with her on “Work,” which nabbed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. He then joined her on stage at a concert in Manchester, where he couldn’t keep himself from sharing with everyone how much he adores his ex-girlfriend: “Shout out to the most beautiful, talented woman I’ve ever seen. She goes by the name of Rihanna… I’m gettin’ my heart broken.”
Did I say “ex-girlfriend”? Well, persistence, sweetness and being Drake apparently pays off. The two were recently spotted leaving Tape nightclub in London during the wee hours of the morning and have been hanging out a lot together in Europe. A source told E! News, “He still loves her and never stopped. Rihanna is the one that’s been not wanting to settle down in the past. They are having fun spending time with each other. Their music together got them close again.”

It feels like ages ago that Rihanna dated Chris Brown and had to deal with all that. The singer and rapper broke up in 2009 after Brown was accused of assaulting Rihanna before the Grammy Awards. Since then, she has proven herself a role model for women on how to get the hell out of an abusive relationship and stay out of one. Even more impressive: It seems like she found a way to forgive Brown and has even collaborated with him on music projects.
Just a few months ago, Rihanna revealed to the New York Times that she doesn’t have the time, energy or desire to be in a romantic relationship. “Guys need attention,” she said. “They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I’ll give it to my family, I’ll give it to my work — but I will not give it to a man right now.”
It’s funny, though, how the right person — one who, perhaps, hasn’t pushed her to commit — can change your mind in a flash. Drake and Rihanna’s relationship history stretches all the way back to 2009, when they were spotted making out at a bowling alley and lounge called Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge in NYC. Thanks to Drake’s honesty, we’ve come to understand that she really had an impact on him, as he shares in the 2010 track “Fireworks”: “Who coulda predicted Lucky Strike would have you struck with me? What happened between us that night, it always seems to trouble me.”
Throughout the years that followed, there was always a bit of confusion over what Rihanna and Drake were actually up to. She claims he was a good friend; he admitted having his heart broken by her but said that he doesn’t blame her, he blames himself for not realizing he was in the friend zone.

Given their on-off “relationship,” as well as the intense chemistry they obviously share on stage and in the music video for “Take Care,” it’s anybody’s guess whether this is the real thing. Pulling for them here — they both seem like genuine souls who would be perfect together.
