Ashley Graham’s body confidence is incredible, and on Wednesday she wanted to share a very important, and empowering message with her followers about loving the skin you’re in.

Taking to Instagram, Graham posted a photo collage of herself showing three different angles of her thighs, all taken from the same shoot.
She captioned it with a very thoughtful message, which took aim at her haters, writing, “Someone once told me my thighs were ‘cellulite city’. But I now realize these thighs tell a story of victory and courage. I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you. #beautybeyondsize #effyourbeautystandards.”

Graham’s message is one that we all need to hear, one that inspires acceptance of all shapes and sizes, and encourages women to love their bodies and every little “imperfection” because it makes you truly unique — something which her fans have applauded her for doing.
“Your [sic] truly amazing. I remember noticing you when you did the #ImNoAngel campaign for Lane Bryant and then i try to have confidence in myself…,” ashley60988 commented.

“Thank you so much for sharing this pic and story. I love that you show the real you and don’t don’t airbrush every imperfection,” melynn_jones wrote.
Sashamichelle4ever also thanked Graham for making her feel good in her skin. She wrote, “You are so gorgeous and make me feel so good about my body as it is!”
The post is filled with positive messages, but unfortunately there are also some people who feel that it’s OK to comment on Graham’s body and call her “unhealthy” and even “disgusting.”
“It’s not beautiful and it’s not healthy at all!!! Stop lying to yourself, girls!!!!” sophiedt0612 wrote.
“Yes! Lets celebrate someone who obviously has psychological issues as well as an unhealthy living habits. This is disgusting and is nothing to applaud. Start taking care of yourself for f*** sake,” woo_cake wrote. And honeybak shared similar sentiments, writing, “Eww go and take care of your body and thats it, it is not courage btw it is stupidity thinking is ok!”

Ugh, so unnecessary. But we doubt Ashley Graham is letting this negativity get to her, because she’s busy conquering the modelling world and helping to make the industry more inclusive. And maybe, one day, women leaving these hateful remarks will realize that there is more than one type of “beauty.”
