Jennifer Aniston isn’t the only woman in Hollywood who’s fed up with how the media scrutinizes her body.

Less than a day after Aniston penned a powerful essay about body-shaming in response to rumors that she’s pregnant, celebs are speaking out in support, including Melissa McCarthy, who spoke at length about Aniston’s essay in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Everybody needs to stop tearing down women,” McCarthy said. “It’s always about the way we look — saying, ‘He’s very interesting,’ ‘He’s a good writer,’ ‘She’s looking older than she was the last time we saw her.’ ”
She added, “It’s a ridiculous thing. I just hope it gets to the point where it’s embarrassing for people to have such a shallow thought.”
In her essay, entitled, “For the Record,” Aniston wrote that women are “complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies.” She continued, “The way I am portrayed by the media is simply a reflection of how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty.”
