Did all that post-divorce talk about phoenixes and ashes mean nothing to Jennifer Garner? It’s been almost a year since Garner and Ben Affleck announced their split — and things got nasty in the tabloids — but no divorce papers have been signed. It could just be that when people are that rich and that beautiful, legal proceedings take time. But Us Weekly has a much more interesting theory: The couple isn’t getting divorced after all.

“Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.” The source continues to spill some very intriguing dirt: “Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” says the Garner pal. “She just focuses on the kids.” The couple continues to live together, supposedly for the kids. Ask anyone — literally anyone — who’s ever split with an ex, and that situation does seem to be too close for comfort. But in the era of conscious uncoupling, Ben & Jen might have found a new solution.

Meanwhile, another insider who’s close to Affleck claims that he too wants to get back together: “If it was up to Ben, they would be together. He feels like he can’t live without Jen.” Does this sound like the world’s worst rom-com to anyone else?
