Andy Cohen refused to get involved in the Taylor Swift & Kim Kardashian feud

If you need some juicy celebrity drama to distract you from the fact that it’s Monday, look no further than the epic hoopla surrounding Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian. It’s turned into such a circus that even Andy Cohen — basically the ringmaster of the entire Real Housewives franchise — is freaking out about it.

I barely got any sleep last night,” he said in the opening moments of his co-hosting turn on Live! with Kelly on Monday morning. “I was very excited about being here. I hosted my show, I went home. You know how sometimes after The Real Housewives, the Housewives will get in a fight on Twitter about what happened on the show? So last night Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian went into it on social media and I was riveted and I couldn’t sleep!”

And, my friends, if Cohen’s mind is blown about drama, you know it’s good.

But while Cohen is riveted by the very public falling out between Swift and Kardashian, he wasn’t born yesterday, and if he’s learned anything from year after year of moderating Housewife reunions, it’s to stay neutral and protect your own hide.

“You can’t upset either of their squads, so I was like, ‘I am staying out of this completely.'”

Maybe Chloë Grace Moretz should have taken a page out of Cohen’s book. She mistakenly tried to turn the Swift/Kardashian Twitter war into a sociopolitical statement, and inserted herself into a Twitter war of her own with Khloé Kardashian.

“Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what’s ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world,” Moretz tweeted. “Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant.”

Khloé responded to Moretz by posting a paparazzi photo of a woman who looks like Moretz from behind with her bikini bottom pulled to the side, leaving the woman exposed.

Pretty classy, Khloé. Moretz has denied that the woman in the photo is her.

For everyone who stayed off social media over the weekend and isn’t caught up on the situation, Cohen gave the bullet points on what’s been going on.

“She [Kardashian] put out proof of Swift being involved in Kanye West clearing lyrics with her months ago, screwed up a timeline, it’s so confusing,” he told Kelly Ripa.

We’re with Cohen — the whole situation doesn’t make much sense.

What do you think? Is Cohen right to stay out of the drama?
