Pippa Middleton says yes to her own Prince Charming

Pippa Middleton is officially off the market. Middleton announced today that her longtime love James Matthews popped the question last week while the couple was on vacation. Although there have been engagement rumors before, The Daily Mail reports, this time it’s real.

More: It’s so obvious — Pippa Middleton was born to be a princess

According to reports, Middleton and Matthews were in the Lake District on a vacation together when Matthews got down on one knee to ask Middleton to marry him. She was “completely and totally surprised” by the event but happily said yes.

The Daily Mail also said that Matthews asked Middleton’s father’s permission before the event, which is probably the sweetest moment of the whole story. Matthews is a very successful 40-year-old man and Middleton is 32. People would understand if Matthews didn’t follow the tradition of asking her father for permission. The fact that he did shows that he is serious about her and showing her family that he cares for and respects them.

The couple first started dating back in 2012, but broke up for about two years before reuniting in 2015 officially. Since then, though, they have been inseparable. It helps that the two have similar interests. One insider told E! News, “Pippa loves socializing and, with James on her arm, there will be plenty more of it.”

They also described James as “super charismatic and charming, good looking and always held a torch for Pippa. They have always had insane chemistry, but Pippa was always in a relationship.” It sounds like the two are going have a long, happy and completely fun marriage ahead of them.

Let’s hope that the engagement isn’t a long one. I can’t wait to see the dress, the venue and the entire ceremony. But first, hopefully Middleton will let us get a glimpse of the ring.

Congratulations to the happy couple.
