It’s been more than a month since the tragic death of The Voice star Christina Grimmie.

Yet Grimmie is still making headlines, though not for any of the reasons you’d probably expect: Her autopsy results were released today. News outlets jumped on the results, presumably to use Grimmie’s name to gain clicks from their readers, and I can’t help but think that she deserves better.
We don’t need to see Grimmie’s autopsy results. All the autopsy did was confirm what we already knew: She died from gunshot wounds inflicted when Kevin Loibl, an obsessed fan, shot her after a show in Orlando, Florida.

Grimmie has already been laid to rest. Her The Voice coach Adam Levine even sweetly paid for her funeral costs. I can’t imagine what it must be like for her family and friends to see her back in the news for something as inconsequential as her autopsy results. Like I said, we know perfectly well how she died.
Instead of reporting on Grimmie’s autopsy, how about using her name to generate clicks for something that actually honors her memory? Grimmie was an outspoken supporter of the Humane Society of the United States. How about directing some of those page views there, encouraging her fans to donate to a cause that was so near and dear to her?
Grimmie also worked with other charities that promote conservation, human rights and other causes. Some of her favorites were Oceana, PETA and UNICEF, all of which can receive donations in Grimmie’s memory at the above links.
