Well, this is an unexpected twist.
Just a week after an apparently excited Keshia Knight Pulliam and Ed Hartwell announced that they were expecting their first baby together, Hartwell filed for divorce.

Pulliam, who starred as one of the kids on The Cosby Show, and Hartwell, a former NFL pro, started dating last year and tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in January. Hartwell’s filing, made in Fulton County Superior Court, comes just seven months after the couple got hitched.
Some news outlets have posted the actual paperwork Hartwell filed, along with his divorce request. According to the paperwork, the divorce is contested, meaning Pulliam isn’t agreeing to the split.

Other details, including why Hartwell suddenly filed for divorce, aren’t known. Considering they only announced their baby news a week ago, the timing is definitely strange. Pulliam’s baby is due in January of next year, and along with her pregnancy announcement, Pulliam announced on Instagram that she and Hartwell are expecting a baby girl.
Pulliam played Rudy, the Huxtables’ youngest child, on The Cosby Show. Since then, the 37-year-old has gone on to act in TBS’s House of Payne, as well as a few other small projects here and there.
Hartwell was previously married to Lisa Wu, and aside from his NFL career, appeared on two seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2008 and 2009.
Here’s hoping this is just some baby jitters on Hartwell’s part and that everything blows over quickly — or at least before the baby arrives.
