Kesha‘s legal battle with producer Dr. Luke has played out very publicly, and it’s been an absolutely heartbreaking time for the star.
But now it looks as though things may finally be coming to an end.

In a surprising turn of events on Monday, Kesha opted to dismiss her sexual abuse lawsuit against Dr. Luke, and according to The Verge, she has also provided new songs to fulfill her contractual obligations with his record label in the hopes of relaunching her career.
No one expected to see this chain of events, but according to Kesha’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, she really wants to focus on what she loves again: Her music.
“Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label,” Petrocelli said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. “We have conveyed to Sony Music and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release the single and an album as soon as possible.”

The tracks, recorded at Kesha’s expense, are a pretty big deal for Kesha as the last album she recorded was Warrior (released on Nov. 30, 2012), and she took to Instagram to share an emotional post about how she needs to get her music out there.
Posting a photo of herself, she captioned it with, “My fight continues. I need to get my music out. I have so much to say. This lawsuit is so heavy on my once free spirit, and I can only pray to one day feel that happiness again. I am continuing to fight for my rights in New York. Thank you for all your support. The support of my fans has been so beautiful and I’m so grateful for it. I’m Not sure where I would be without you all.”

Fans have taken to the comment section of the post to share their support and love for the star.

As for how Dr. Luke feels about the recent developments? According to Buzzfeed News, his attorney, Christine Lepera, told them that Kesha voluntarily dropped her claims “because she has no chance of winning them.”
She added, “Kesha never should have brought her false and meritless claims against Dr. Luke in any court.”
