The Bachelorette‘s Robby Hayes is suspiciously chill about being dumped

The Bachelorette‘s runner-up, Robby Hayes, doesn’t seem to be having any problems moving on from JoJo Fletcher, who gave him the ax during Monday’s season finale.

He’s doing really well,” a source reportedly close to Hayes told Us Weekly. “With the help of family and friends, he’s progressively been able to move on.”

Hayes was the first suitor this season to tell Fletcher that he loved her, and he was singularly devoted to her throughout the season until she let him go before he proposed on the final episode.

“I can’t let you get down on one knee — I can’t let you do that, because I don’t want to take that moment from you,” Fletcher said on the show. “I fell in love with you, but for some reason my heart is somewhere else.”

Hayes addressed Fletcher seemingly comfortably during the After the Final Rose special that aired live immediately following the finale.

“You say a lot of things that make me think that it should have been us,” Hayes told her. “[You said] that you love me, that your family thought it should’ve been me. … I’m asking now, with the time that has passed, is there anything that’s more clear as to why one love was stronger than the one love we had?”

Fletcher replied, “My heart was always with Jordan.”

Hayes’ diplomacy in the wake of heartbreak is suspicious, to say the least. It’s been less than two months since Fletcher dumped him — does his neutral stance mean he’s angling to be the next Bachelor?

According to a source, “Finding out that JoJo is happy was comforting and is helping him move on. Robby still cares for her, and in caring for her, all he wants is for her to be happy.”

The insider continued, “The entire experience was positive, and Robby would do it again. Robby just wants JoJo to be happy, and he knows she had to make the right decision for her.”
