If you said Saint West was ‘fake,’ Kim Kardashian has some words for you

Kim Kardashian gave a keynote speech at the 2016 BlogHer conference and revealed the most ridiculous rumor she’s heard about herself. To be honest, we thought it might be something like her having a fake butt or that she and Taylor Swift are working together. But no. What Kardashian revealed was way more absurd than that.

She told the BlogHer audience that there are people out there convinced that her son, Saint West, is fake. She said, “I wanted him to be able to go to the park every single day, like a normal human being, and no one knows who he is. And that would happen. And then I wouldn’t post him. He’s eight months old now, but people literally thought he didn’t exist.”

Kardashian laughed at the absurdity of the whole thing, but it’s still a little crazy to think people would assume that she made all this up.

She said, “They thought I had this full fake baby and I made this whole thing up and he didn’t exist because I wasn’t posting about it. And to me, that is so ridiculous.”

It’s great that Kardashian has a sense of humor about all the rumors spread about her. I imagine that if she couldn’t turn them into a joke, she might go insane. But this brings up an interesting point about everyone who is starting these rumors.

The point is that when anyone starts making up rumors about children, it’s gone too far. Just because Kardashian is used to dealing with lies like this and can laugh about it, that doesn’t mean that people should keep creating them. It just isn’t a productive use of time.

If Kardashian were to post about her son all the time, she’d get slammed for over-exposing a child. Because she isn’t posting anything, she gets rumors that she made the whole thing up. But when do we all get to the point where enough is enough?

We applaud Kardashian not only for not letting this kind of thing get to her but also for knowing that she’s doing the best thing for her child and continuing to put his happiness and safety first. That’s the truest sign of an extraordinary mom.
