Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s divorce continues to get messier and messier. Now, Depp’s camp is accusing Heard of having an affair with actor Billy Bob Thornton while she was married to Depp.
Recently, it was revealed that during one heated argument between Depp and Heard, things got so out of hand that Depp severed his finger. According to People, back in March 2015, Depp accused Heard of cheating on him with Thornton and was so angry during the fight that he lashed out violently enough to mangle his finger.

After that, Depp allegedly dipped the damaged finger into a can of paint and wrote “Billy Bob” and “Easy Amber” on the mirror in their home in Australia.
Not only has Heard adamantly denied the cheating accusations, but a source told People, “Billy Bob definitely, absolutely did not have an affair with Amber.”
There are a few things wrong with this story, so we’re just going to take it one by one.
First of all, Depp is accused of cheating and there are multiple pictures that show a bruised Heard — not to mention, calling your wife “easy” is its own form of mental abuse. And yet, despite the actual evidence, people are still searching for a reason to blame Heard for Depp’s actions.

There’s no way the problems in this marriage are any one person’s fault completely, but based on the evidence we have, Heard is the victim here. We need to stop looking for reasons she “made” Depp act the way he did. The victim is never the reason they got attacked. Ever.
Secondly, it’s completely ridiculous that people demand answers from Thornton and his camp before they entertain the thought of believing Heard. It’s as if a woman can’t possibly know what happened in her own sex life — anything she says had to be validated by the man. It’s a habit we all need to break. Immediately.
But most importantly, even if Heard did have an affair, it still doesn’t excuse Depp’s behavior. No matter how hurt or embarrassed or angry a person is, it’s never OK to abuse another person, physically or mentally.
It’s time to change the conversation and the way Heard is being treated by everyone. She doesn’t deserve any of it.
