Sailor Brinkley Cook is not her mother, and she’s not letting anyone forget it.

The 18-year-old daughter of Christie Brinkley took to Instagram this week, revealing the kinds of criticism she gets being the daughter of a star, and calling out trolls for constantly comparing her to her mother.
“First of all- everyone needs to stop putting me and my siblings and me and my mother in competition. I believe comparison will kill you. Comparison to others is toxic and unhealthy.. As long as I am happy healthy and kind to others why should i care if i am not as ‘pretty’ as someone else?” she wrote under a collection of screen shots of comments written about her.
“Sorry, but she looks nothing like her mother. She’s average looking at best,” one of the comments read. “She’s a pretty girl but no where [sic] near what her mother was,” another read.

Other comments put Cook on blast for attending the Parsons School of Design in New York City.
“Parsons is the ultimate NYC school for do-nothing trust fund babies,” a commenter said. Cook addressed that, too.
“Pushing down the school i worked my ass off for 4 years to get into, saying its for do-nothing trust fund babies, is not only stereotyping a scholastic community but is just plain incorrect and rude! I know many kids enrolled in Parsons who are the most hard working and passionate students in all of new york,” Cook wrote.
Cook has a point. She has done nothing to deserve being constantly compared to Brinkley, even if they are mother and daughter. Cook appears to be carving her own path in the world, and she deserves to be judged on her own merit, not her looks, and especially not how her looks compare to her mother’s.
