Justin Bieber is going down in history — Guinness World Records history

We all know Justin Bieber is hugely successful, but his latest accolade is not one we expected from him: Justin Bieber has set a Guinness world record — eight of them, actually.

When you think of the Guinness World Records, your mind probably drifts to some strange things, like the Most Big Macs consumed in a lifetime, the Most piercings in a lifetime or even the longest fingernails. But Bieber has made his way into the Guinness World Records 2017 Edition book for his musical talent — more specifically, his record-breaking Purpose album — and he now has eight new records to add to his already expansive list of accolades.

So what exactly are these eight new world records for? According to the Guinness World Records website, Bieber has nabbed the Most streamed track on Spotify in one week (for “What Do You Mean?”), Most streamed album on Spotify in one week, Most simultaneous tracks on the U.S. singles chart (a number of his tracks made the Billboard Hot 100 list, including “Sorry,” “Love Yourself,” “Company” and “Mark My Words”).

And that’s not all. Bieber also took home the award for Most simultaneous new entries in the Hot 100 by a solo artist, Most followers on Twitter (male) — which, at the time of print, was 85,235,563 — as well as Most viewed music channel on YouTube (individual), Most subscribers on YouTube for a musician (male) and First act to occupy all top three positions simultaneously on U.K. singles chart. Impressive, right?

It’s hard to not be impressed, because Bieber has managed to achieve all of this at age 22 (something most of us can only dream of doing).

Bieber was awarded his records on Monday in New York City by a team of Guinness World Records staff and an official adjudicator — and as you can see from the photo, he looks pretty darn pleased with himself.
