Good Morning America and Live! with Kelly both are back for their new seasons.

And with that comes a change that’s been hyped for months: Former Live! co-host Michael Strahan has made his full-time move to GMA, while Kelly Ripa remains solo as the host of Live!
Strahan was welcomed into his new hosting gig by his co-hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, and was greeted with cheers in the studio when he introduced himself. Strahan was a co-host on Live! for four years before announcing earlier this year that he was leaving the show to join the team on GMA.
“Of course you get nervous, and I’ve done this for four years, so this is a moment that I didn’t anticipate being here at this point, but it’s here, and we’re going to enjoy it,” Strahan said, adding that he was staying on ABC. “I’m not dying! I’m still in the family! And I’m still available to come back if I’m ever called to co-host, so I’m not going anywhere. I’m not gone.”

Meanwhile, Ripa began her new season on Live! with a notable promotion. She is now serving as the show’s executive producer alongside Michael Gelman, likely putting a stop to rumors that she’s looking for work elsewhere after she was burned by ABC, which reportedly didn’t give her a heads-up about Strahan’s departure before it hit headlines.
On the first episode of the new season of Live!, she joked about some upgrades made to the studio, including new velvet seat covers, saying, “Wow, they spared no expense!”
A full-time co-host for Ripa still hasn’t been named, but she kicked off the season alongside guest host Morris Chestnut.
