Bachelorette‘s Chad Johnson & Robby Hayes trash-talked Nick Viall so hard

Nick Viall will (finally) be getting the ultimate shot at love with his stint on The Bachelor, but it turns out there are a lot of people who don’t think he’s the right man for the job, including The Bachelorette alum Chad Johnson.

More:Did Nick Viall strategically plan to be The Bachelor all along?

During an interview with In Touch Weekly, Johnson made his feelings about Viall perfectly clear, and to put it lightly, he’s not a fan. Johnson claims that Viall “is totally fake,” adding, “He’s already been on three shows. It’s not about him wanting a wife; it’s about fame.”

Johnson also stated that on two seasons of The Bachelorette everyone hated him, “and then he’s like, OK, fine, then I’ll just be completely fake [and sweet] and you’ll like me, and it worked onBachelor in Paradise! People fell for it.” Johnson also believes Viall is somewhat of a master manipulator and “knows what Bachelor Nation wants,” which makes him feel that this season will be “the most inoffensive, uneventful Bachelor ever.” Wow.

Wait, there’s more. Johnson also believes that Viall is playing it up for the cameras and claims Viall followed him around on Bachelor in Paradise and spoke about Johnson on camera because, “He knew that was going to get him on TV.”

As for whether Viall’s heart is in the right place? According to Johnson, it’s not.

“I called him out a couple times, like, ‘Oh, good job on getting your redemption story.’ He laughed at it because he knew what he was doing,” he told the publication.

It’s not just Johnson who was eager to share his thoughts on Viall, but Robby Hayes too. Hayes told the publication, “To be honest, I figured they might go after somebody a little younger, somebody that has a little more pep in their step,” adding that, the first time he met Viall, “he came off a little pompous and seemed bitter.”

Sure, Viall is one of the most controversial contestants on The Bachelorette, but he does genuinely appear to be looking for love, and even Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray have wished him well in his future endeavors.
