Thank goodness Caroline Manzo is OK after discovering that lump in her breast

Keeping secrets from your loved ones is not usually the best thing to do during a crisis, but Manzo’d With Children‘s Caroline Manzo just perfectly explained the exception to this rule.

As you probably remember from the gut-wrenching Manzo’d With Children Season 3 trailer that hit the internet over the summer, Manzo recently found a lump in her breast and was left do deal with the excruciating fear of what the future might hold for health.

“I’m the strongest person you’ll ever meet when I’m battling for somebody else, but when it’s me, oh my god,” she said in the season preview.

Fans of the Real Housewives franchise are well aware that Manzo will go to battle and lay down her life for her family, and her values held true during her health crisis. In fact, Manzo made the difficult decision to withhold information about her health from her children for their benefit.

“I hid it from them for about a month and a half,” Manzo revealed in an interview with Access Hollywood this week. “They didn’t know a thing, because I didn’t want to scare them and I didn’t want to give them false hope or anything like that. So I wanted to know that I was OK.”

That’s one thoughtful mama. And Manzo may be a reigning queen of reality TV, but she would never, ever put the show above her family.

“I talked to producers about it, I said, ‘Until I know one way or another definitively, I’m not gonna do this to them,'” she said. “I would never do that to them on camera. I just wouldn’t. It’s not a thing to do.”

Thank goodness Manzo didn’t ever have to have that horrible conversation with her kids, because it turns out everything was OK, just like she wanted.

“Thank you, God, I’m fine,” she said during her Access Hollywood appearance. “It was a scare… this turned out to be an infection… and for three months we didn’t know what it was.”

We’re so sorry that Manzo had to go through that trying time, but very glad that she is OK.
