Kendall Jenner‘s latest Vogue shoot is gorgeous, no doubt. But the magazine is getting a little bit of backlash for choosing Jenner for the shoot, and I hate to admit that they kind of deserve it.

Some of the harshest criticism came from Dance Moms‘ Abby Lee Miller, who posted a now-deleted Instagram calling out Jenner’s terrible ballet form during the shoot.
“I don’t make a habit of commenting on all the dancers that post pics with incorrect technique… but I can not be a fan of this shoot. There are so many amazing dancers in the world… Kendall Jenner is not one of them!” she wrote, before launching an attack on Jenner’s family, as well. “Shame on Momager, Kris Jenner!!! She never made these kids take dance class. She better get North West to the [Abby Lee Dance Company Studio LA] before it’s too late!”

Harsh words from a generally harsh woman, but I have to admit she’s right. A lot of models have backgrounds in dance, and for a ballet shoot, Vogue should have gone with one of them. It’s not like they’d have been short on big names to choose from — Karlie Kloss and Hailey Baldwin are both supermodels who are also accomplished dancers.
Having a Jenner on board is sure to add some star power to a shoot, but this just feels disrespectful of all the hours real dancers put into perfecting their form.
