Olivia Wilde’s scared about what Donald Trump could do to her daughter — yes, we said daughter

Olivia Wilde is having a girl! Repeat: Olivia Wilde is having a baby girl!

The exciting news broke when Wilde tweeted about it over the weekend… along with a vicious takedown of the Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

“As someone who is about to have a daughter, this hits me deep in my core. #NeverTrump,” Wilde wrote, linking to a Hillary Clinton campaign ad that highlights all the miserably sexist things Trump has said publicly throughout his career.

In the video, girls look into mirrors as Trump’s comments play. Over somber piano music, young girls look at their reflections as Trump’s voice says, “I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers… she’s a slob… she ate like a pig… a person who’s flat-chested is very hard to be a 10… does she have a good body? No.”

The ad ends with the message, “Is this the president we want for our daughters?” Clinton first tweeted the ad, writing, “When Donald Trump speaks about women, our daughters can hear him.”

Wilde is absolutely right to be alarmed. Trump is unapologetic about his treatment of women. Even throughout his presidential campaign, he’s insulted female journalists and debate moderators without a second thought. That’s definitely not the president we want for our daughters.

Wilde’s tweet is a little tongue-in-cheek, but the message is clear. Regardless of how you feel about the other candidates who are running for president, Trump has a clear history of disrespect for women, and if that’s an issue you take seriously, either for yourself or for the millions of young women who could grow up during a Trump presidency, supporting him is just unacceptable.
