I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Farrah Abraham might need her own show

Trust me when I tell you that what I’m about to say is hard to get out, but here it goes — following this week’s episode of Teen Mom OG, it seems as though it might be time for Farrah Abraham to get her own spinoff. Hey, now… hear me out.

Much of this week’s episode once again revolved around Abraham and her on-again/off-again boyfriend Simon’s incredibly volatile relationship. She had just closed on her new townhouse in Los Angeles and was flying out with her mom to tailor the space to her specific tastes.

Simon — who you’ll remember from last week Abraham still expects to pay for the engagement ring she bought for herself — was meeting the Teen Mom star in Los Angeles to help her get her new pad set up. And by that, I mean he was apparently supposed to pay for all of her new furniture since, in Abraham’s words, “he owes” her. Mm-hmm.

Of course the entire venture is messy AF.

Abraham doesn’t agree with the way Simon suggests they load in the furniture, so she lets into him in her typical berating fashion. He gets stressed about the entire situation and essentially takes off although, really, who could blame him? His big fault this week is when he oversteps and starts snapping at the Teen Mom crew, but I guess we can give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to duress.

Meanwhile, Abraham yells at her poor mother while the woman is literally on her hands and knees scrubbing her daughter’s floors. Abraham watches like an entitled overlord, placidly eating a salad.

While I would love to tell you with as much detail what went on with the rest of the Teen Mom OG cast, I can’t. Why? Because it was all overshadowed by Abraham’s antics. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Abraham monopolized the share of minutes on this week’s episode but, even if she didn’t, the damage was done because it seemed as though the episode was largely about her.

This is problematic for myriad reasons. For starters, Catelynn Baltierra came back from rehab. Woohoo, Baltierra! It’s always a win when a woman makes a decision as healthy as the one Baltierra did so that she can be a better mother, wife and person.

Then there was the fact that Amber Portwood moved into her dream home. While I think most of us could do without her dicey fiancé, the fact that Portwood has seen such tremendous growth over the course of the show is inspiring to see.

The point is some of these stars were experiencing beautiful, happy, watershed moments… and the big takeaway from the episode (and last week’s, for that matter) is that Abraham and Simon are on the outs again. Oh, and that she just bought a second home which, to be honest, makes the rest of us feel real bleak about the whole putting in an honest day’s work for a meager paycheck lifestyle we’ve been living.

So, at this point, I say give Abraham her own spinoff. Let her drama be a beast unto itself that won’t diminish what is happening in the lives of the other cast members. If people tune in, well, that’s their prerogative. If not, welp, maybe it wasn’t meant to be.

The reality is that Abraham is just one of those people who kind of sucks the air out of every room she enters, you know? I think it’s time Teen Mom OG gave the rest of its stars a little more breathing room.

What do you think? Would you rather Abraham be on a separate series?
