The show’s famous mom, Kate Gosselin, confirmed the news on Instagram this week. She posted a photo of her son Aaden playing with his dog, when a follower commented, “Wish you guys were still on television.” Gosselin responded to the comment, writing, “We are! Full season of Kate Plus 8 returning in January! #Yay.”

Gosselin’s family has been on reality TV since 2007, when Jon and Kate Plus 8 premiered on TLC. The couple divorced in 2010, and Kate continued on with Kate Plus 8.

Though next year, it might just be Kate Plus 7. Gosselin has had some pretty major family drama in the past few years, and some incidents culminated in having to send her 12-year-old son, Collin, to a program away from home to address what Gosselin said are “special needs.”

“[There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what [Collin’s] needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things,” Gosselin said. “This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him — our entire family has been impacted.”

She continued, “We miss him so much, so it’s been hard, because there is a huge hole in our family without him here. But it comforts us to know he’s where he needs to be right now, and I can feel good about that.”
