Amber Rose and Julianne Hough have put their Dancing with the Stars bad blood behind them, but will it last?
After watching tonight’s episode, I think it will. Both ladies seemed genuine in expressing their feelings, but more than that, both ladies seemed genuine in their passion for body positivity and celebrating all types of women.

“I would like to say one thing also. The thing that I love so much about dance is that dance is a universal platform for people to express themselves — any person. Whether that is age or height, body shape, ethnicity, sexual orientation. It is something that people can express themselves to do,” Hough explained to Rose. “And for me, I am a huge supporter of that and that alone. As a judge on this show, I am here to solely judge you and everyone else in this competition for only the dancing. So I want you to know that.”
The hurt feelings all stemmed from the fact that last week Hough called out Rose’s salsa in which she wrapped her legs around her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy in a sexual way.
Hough said the move made her feel uncomfortable to watch.
Rather than hashing it out right then and there, however, Rose waited to share her anger until she talked about the incident on her Loveline with Amber Rose program. “Last night was like, they did the commentary, and I, it was a point in the dance where I had to lift my leg up and Maks dipped me & [Julianne] said, ‘Oh, I’m uncomfortable,’ and instantly I felt, I did feel body-shamed.”
Luckily, Hough was able to clarify her comments tonight. She even gave Rose a standing ovation after she completed her Argentine tango.

“Like I said in the package, when you said that I felt very embarrassed and I felt like you weren’t talking about the dance,” Rose explained. “But if I misunderstood, then I apologize. I’m a very positive person, I don’t like to argue or bicker or make things weird.”
Both ladies were ready to put the incident behind them. They hugged it out and even reportedly chatted backstage, according to People.
Rose then sealed the newfound friend deal when she commented backstage after her performance, “Last week was really hard for me. When she said that… I was just like, ‘How did my salsa make you that uncomfortable?’ But she said that it wasn’t like that and it was just pertaining to my dance, and I believe her.”
Rose added, “So, I love that it’s just all positivity now and just moving forward. People react to things differently. I wouldn’t have reacted that way, but everyone does. It’s cool. I’m glad that it’s over and done and we’re just moving forward.”
While Rose definitely deserves props for being so open and willing to listen to Hough’s explanation, I feel like it is Hough who really shined with her comments on the deeper meaning of dance. I love that she sees it as an empowering way for people to express themselves no matter their size or background or height or whatever. It’s a powerful message because it’s so true.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the theme of empowering women stuck with Hough and Rose throughout this season, and I wouldn’t complain about it either. Let’s keep the body positivity going!
