According to TMZ, Dante is lucky to be alive. He suffered a shattered jaw and split palate, along with broken and knocked out teeth. He will need reconstructive surgery and is expected to spend weeks in the hospital recovering.

The attack happened in the early hours of the morning. After being punched by the two assailants, The Daily Mail is reporting that Dante was able to run away, back to the Florida State University campus where he is a student.

Unfortunately, his attackers also got away, and police are currently searching for them.

Sylvester commented to TMZ about the incident, saying, “This is a wonderful young man, a straight-A student who would not cause any trouble. It’s just so tragic and terribly sad.”

Sylvester and Dante’s brother Frank Stallone also commented on the attack on Facebook.

Frank has also kept his Twitter updated with news and said that Dante was heading into surgery on Monday night.

Dante is the son of Frank Stallone and his fourth wife, Kathleen Rhodes. Dante seems to have stayed out of the family spotlight, choosing instead to study biology. He is also a member of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
