Jana Kramer revealed her history with abuse tonight on Dancing with the Stars, and there was barely a dry eye in the room by the end of her performance.
The stars performed dances based off of their most memorable year, and Kramer chose this year. It is the year her daughter, Jolie, was born.

“This week, it’s most memorable year, and mine is 2016, because I had my baby girl. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve been my entire life. She’s given me the strength I didn’t know I would have,” Kramer said in her package prior to the dance.
She added, “And I’ve been in bad situations where I’ve let people take that from me. Ten years ago, I was in an abusive relationship. It was the worst time of my life. He went to jail for attempted murder on me. It’s been a very heavy secret to hold for so many years. The situation 10 years ago broke me. It took having Jolie to piece together every single broken part of me.”
Kramer’s first husband was Michael Gambino. The two were married in 2004. He was sentenced to a six-year prison sentence following the abusive relationship with Kramer. Two years after Gambino was released from prison, he committed suicide.

Kramer is now remarried to football player Mike Caussin. Though the two are reportedly having issues, it seems that hasn’t deterred Kramer from living her life to the fullest for the sake of her daughter.

Her performance had the judges all teary-eyed, especially Julianne Hough. She earned a total score of 26/30. My guess is, she also earned a spot in next week’s show.
