That was fast! SVU already has an episode about Donald Trump’s latest scandal

It’s no secret that those behind Law & Order: Special Victims Unit love to write episode plots ripped straight from real headlines. And it looks like their latest case of art imitating life will revolve around none other than the U.S. Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

In an episode titled “Unstoppable,” the storyline will be about a politician whose campaign goes awry after a group of women publicly accuse him of inappropriate conduct, according to information obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

Gary Cole of Veep fame will play the politician, and additional guest stars for the episode include Peter Gallagher, Currie Graham, Meredith Travers and Bianca Amato.

While SVU doesn’t usually come forward and say who their episodes are about, they always make it obvious by cleverly crafted titles — like the Steven Avery-inspired ep titled “Making a Rapist,” which was clearly modeled after the Netflix title Making a Murderer. In this case, the “Unstoppable” title certainly sounds like something Trump would say about himself and his current political campaign. That is, something Trump would have said prior to the scandals that have come to light over the past couple of weeks.

In early October, accusations that Trump’s behavior was massively sexist on the set of The Apprentice surfaced, and then, just last week, footage of Trump and then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush having a disturbing conversation objectifying women and talking about grabbing them by the genitalia went public, totally derailing Trump’s campaign.

In addition to the Trump and Avery episodes, SVU has also recently taken on The Bachelor and the shootings that happened in San Bernardino last December.

SVU certainly wasted no time in the writers’ room pumping out the Trump episode. It’s almost like they saw it coming, isn’t it? “Unstoppable” is set to air on Oct. 26, just two weeks before the presidential election in November.

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
