We all know how dating rumors go in the celeb world. Once a pair of good-looking famous people are seen together doing anything, really, it’s just common knowledge that they must be dating.

So it goes for Ashley Olsen, who’s been recently linked to entrepreneur and Pressed Juicery founder Hayden Slater after they were photographed hiking together in Los Angeles.

The two hit the trails with Slater’s dog, a huge rottweiler, both dressed in super-casual workout gear. Their clothes alone makes me inclined to think they aren’t dating because I know I wouldn’t be caught dead on a date with a relatively new guy in a super-baggy sweater, oversized sweatpants and no makeup with my hair in a messy pony like Olsen. Then again, I’m not a rich, successful fashion designer, so maybe she doesn’t try as hard as I do.

There is at least a little more evidence that these two are a new couple. They were spotted running errands together in Hollywood a few days ago, and they attended an engagement party together, where they posed for a group photo and held hands. That’s definitely more solid evidence of romance than the simple fact that they went for a hike together.

Still, every man in whose proximity Olsen is seen makes headlines that speculate about her new boyfriend. Most recently, it was 59-year-old painter George Condo, who is literally old enough to be her grandfather. Though they went out to dinner together, they were definitely not dating. So pardon me if I’m not quite sold on the newest rumors about Olsen’s relationship status.
