Update: Nov. 8, 6:10 a.m. ET — Angelina Jolie‘s representative has released a new statement regarding the custody of her and Brad Pitt‘s six children — and they’ve reportedly reached a legal agreement.
The rep told People magazine, “We can confirm that childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago. In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother’s custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children’s best interest.” The rep went on to reveal that they cannot discuss details, but that they hoped there would be “understanding of the sensitivity of the family situation.” They continued, saying, “We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time.”
However, sources close to the couple reportedly told People that they dispute the claim made by Jolie’s rep, and that the agreement referenced “is simply an extension of that temporary deal beyond the original Oct. 21 expiration.” A second source reportedly told the publication that the deal referenced is not meant as a permanent custody agreement, but rather a temporary solution while Pitt and Jolie work on a more permanent settlement.

Previously, it appeared that things were getting more civil between the two and that they were willing to share custody of their children to help heal the family and save their children more heartache. But that may no longer be the case.
According to TMZ, sources close to Jolie told them that she’s willing to fight Pitt in court for the custody of their six children “until he gets his shit together.” In the time being, she reportedly wants Pitt to have monitored visitation with their children.
And it seems that she may be getting her wish because according to the publication, Jolie’s “wish list” is what the former couple temporarily agreed upon while the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services continues to investigate the airplane confrontation between Pitt and Maddox — as well as broader interaction within the family.

According to reports, Jolie does want the family to heal and is willing to (one day) allow Pitt have a “normal” parenting routine, but until things are settled, she intends to fight for sole custody.
As for Pitt, sources reportedly closely connected to the actor told the publication that they believe the custody agreement will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services’ conclusions — and they believe they will find that Pitt is a good parent.
