Seeing TWD‘s Daryl Dixon break down is having a serious effect on fans

The Walking Dead has no problem killing off its characters, but there was one death in particular that really hit hard: the death of Glenn Rhee.

More:That Walking Dead death scene was even too much for one cast member

On Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, the death of Glenn (played by Steven Yeun) was weighing heavily on Norman Reedus‘ character, Daryl Dixon — as you’ll remember, Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed Glenn after Daryl jumped out of line, so he’s understandably been feeling some guilt over that decision.

We’ve seen Daryl emotional before, but in this episode, we got a feel for just how torn up he really is (it doesn’t help that he’s being tortured, either). It all went down when Negan’s right-hand man, Dwight (played by Austin Amelio) tells Daryl, “You got your friend killed.” And Daryl’s subsequent breakdown was heartbreaking.

This scene is just brutal, and really tugs at the heartstrings (it’s also a reminder of what a great actor Reedus is), and fans have taken to Twitter to react.

It’s clear there’s a lot of broken hearts out there.

And there are also people who really hate Negan after this scene — which is not really surprising!
