Some of the protests turned violent, with Daily Mail reporting that over 6,000 protesters came out to march in Oakland, and what started as a peaceful protest quickly escalated after some protesters threw bottles at police offers and torched a police car.
Fourteen people were reportedly arrested in a protest outside the Los Angeles City Hall, while 30 people were arrested outside the twin demonstrations in Columbus Circle and at Trump Tower. The publication also notes that one person was “bundled into the back of a van by the Secret Service” after a candlelight vigil outside the White House.
