McGowan and Leavitt got engaged in July of 2013, and just three months later, they decided to get married at the Paramour mansion in Los Angeles, California. But this pairing was obviously not meant to be. While E! News reports that the divorce was finalized on Thursday, Nov. 10, McGowan had initially filed for divorce from her husband of three years in February, citing irreconcilable differences, although there had been trouble in the marriage long before then, as McGowan had noted that they had separated in May of 2015 — just a year and a half after first getting married.

Neither McGowan nor Leavitt will receive spousal support and have reportedly reached a decision with regards to the division of their assets. However, the couple also made another important decision: determining the fate of the couple’s frozen embryos.
According to TMZ, the divorce documents state that the couple had an unspecified number of frozen embryos, which were being stored at the Beverly Hills fertility clinic, and as part of divorce settlement both McGowan and Leavitt agreed that the embryos should “immediately be thawed and destroyed.”

While it’s sad that their marriage didn’t work out, McGowan and Leavitt do at least appear to be on the same page.
