Real Housewives of New York star Jules Wainstein is joining the ranks of Real Housewives stars who have had really messy splits, but Wainstein’s divorce might take the cake. (And, yes, I’m saying that even remembering what Bethenny Frankel went through.)

Jules is fighting with her soon-to-be ex-husband, Michael Wainstein, over custody of their two kids, son Jagger and daughter Rio, and Michael is using Jules’ reported history of drug abuse as evidence that she is unfit to be a mother.
According to New York Daily News, Michael’s lawyer Morghan Richardson told the outlet, “Look no further than to watch TV to see the bag of drugs that she carries around.”
In the last season of RHONY, Jules did in fact make a comment about carrying lidocaine and Percocet with her, but the judge in the couple’s case, Justice Michael Katz, wants more evidence, smartly saying that he isn’t going to take some reality TV show as fact.

“I don’t try cases based on what may or may not be on the television,” Katz said, as quoted by New York Daily News.
But Michael might have more evidence than just the RHONY clips to present. Jules reportedly spent some time in rehab for an eating disorder and drug abuse. As it stands now, the couple shares custody, but that could change depending on the evidence Michael presents.
Jules and Michael announced their divorce over the summer, after eight years of marriage. Since then, it’s been a quick downhill drop as accusations of spousal abuse and affairs have been alleged on both sides.

I hope, for the sake of their kids, that these two can work together and come to a peaceful solution.
