Mariah Carey and James Packer’s relationship did not end on good terms, but things between them recently took a particularly nasty turn. Their settlement negotiations have reportedly broken down and now both camps are threatening legal action, TMZ reports.

As previously reported, Carey was asking her former fiancé for $50 million, claiming that she had “uprooted” her life to be with him and that the emotional distress caused by their breakup was to blame for the cancellation of the South American leg of her tour. But according to the site, Packer claims that he’s not willing to give her anything because in his mind, they were never married and therefore he has no legal obligation to pay her anything.
While Packer believes that he owes Carey nothing, she apparently has a very different view. Sources close to Carey reportedly told TMZ that she believes Packer used her to secure various business deals and took her to several meetings so that she could meet important people and help close lucrative deals. According to the site, she now believes she’s entitled to a cut.

And most recently, Packer reportedly claimed he was bullied into being on Carey’s reality TV show, Mariah’s World.
Sources told the site that Packer has asked the show’s producers to erase him from the series and he wants to see proof that he signed the appropriate releases (which he reportedly did not). Sources connected to Carey revealed that, at the time, Packer had been fully onboard with the show.
