Despite their past, Lady Gaga’s not going to let haters belittle Kanye West

Kanye West and Lady Gaga have history, and by history we mean they weren’t exactly best friends after their much-anticipated tour, Fame Kills, was suddenly canceled in 2009. But Gaga has clearly left the past behind her because she recently came to West’s defense.

Gaga showed her support for West with a series of tweets on Wednesday Nov. 23, when she took to Twitter to slam those who have been mocking him over his recent hospitalization (he checked into the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 21) for a health scare believed to have been caused by “exhaustion and sleep deprivation.”

Gaga told fans that this wasn’t a time to be making jokes about mental illness because even though she does not agree with everything that West does, she does realize that it’s times like these that he needs support, not belittling.

Gaga concluded with a powerful message directed at West in which she told him that she fully supports him and sees “bravery and courage” within him.
