Jennifer Lawrence can’t even wear a ring without someone thinking she’s engaged

When Jennifer Lawrence and director Darren Aronofsky first got together, there was gossip about their age difference (Aronofsky is 21 years Lawrence’s senior), but now that everyone’s settled down with regard to that, there’s a new rumor taking center stage: talk of an engagement.

Some people seem to think Lawrence and Aronofsky recently took their relationship to the next level and got engaged after Lawrence was spotted out in Madrid, Spain, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger — which immediately sparked engagement rumors.

Of course, wearing a ring on that finger doesn’t automatically suggest an engagement — because, you know, sometimes a ring just looks really good on your left hand — and in this case, the rumors happen to be completely false. According to Daily Mail, a rep for Lawrence has denied the rumors and stated that the actress is not engaged.

We love that Lawrence and Aronofsky appear to be so happy together, but since they’re yet to officially confirm they are a couple (despite being spotted on several dates in recent months), we don’t expect them to be announcing an engagement any time soon.
