Bey, who has already won 20 Grammy awards during her career, is nominated for nine more, including album of the year for Lemonade and song and record of the year for “Formation.” Bey also made history this year: She’s the first artist ever to snag nominations in the pop, rock, R&B and rap categories all in the same year.
She has some close competition from Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West, who have eight nominations each.
For record of the year, Bey is up against Adele for “Hello,” Lukas Graham for “7 Years,” Rihanna for “Work” and Twenty One Pilots for “Stressed Out.” Other nominees for album of the year are Adele for 25, Justin Bieber for Purpose, Drake for Views and Sturgill Simpson for A Sailor’s Guide to Earth. For song of the year, Bey is up against Adele for “Hello,” Mike Poser for “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” Justin Bieber for “Love Yourself” and Lukas Graham for “7 Years.”
