Luvvie Ajayi is a humor blogger, activist, writer, speaker and digital strategist, so, basically, she’s working on taking over the world one word at a time.

But she wasn’t always thriving.
During an interview with SheKnows, Luvvie Ajayi explains how her biggest #FAIL was actually the universe putting her on the right track to fulfilling her purpose in life.
In fact, it was just in her last job that Ajayi experienced that #FAIL.
“When I had my last job, I was doing nonprofit marketing, and I was basically the person teaching other nonprofits how to tell their story with social media, but I was restless at that job because I felt like I needed to be doing something else. At that point, I was blogging still. I was not going to take the risk of quitting my job. So, in April 2010, I got laid off this job and I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ I wasn’t ready! But really, it was the universe being like, ‘I’m going to make you do this because you’re not supposed to be sitting in this office.'”

She continued, “What started as a #FAIL, ended up as a success because it’s what made me venture out on my own and start my own business and start focusing more on writing. Sometimes when you hide from your purpose, it will find you anyway. And I didn’t want to accept the fact that I’m supposed to be writing.”
She said that more women can find their purpose if we all stand together.
“For young women, I would say stand in your worth,” Ajayi encouraged. “Know it. When women put our energies together, we basically take over the world. I’m surrounded by a village of women who hold me up and who I’m hoping I hold them up too. If you have an army of women behind you, you cannot #FAIL.”
