According to a source close to the Cosby family, he’s now considering a plea deal in his sexual assault case if it’ll keep him out of the courtroom.
“Bill Cosby is seeking a plea deal with Montgomery County DA. He and his family are very hopeful an agreement will be reached,” the source said, while a representative of the DA’s office added that the office “cannot comment on this until a plea deal is reached and agreed upon.”

The insider said Cosby is getting more and more nervous as his case progresses and that he thinks he “won’t be able to convince a jury to let him off.” If he can negotiate a plea deal, “Cosby and his family believe he’ll be eligible for a sentence of just probation… and remove the threat of him dying in prison,” the source said.
Cosby is accused of sexual assault by more than 50 women over four decades, but only one of those cases might face trial. Cosby has been charged with three counts of felony indecent assault stemming from accusations made against him by Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee who claims Cosby drugged and raped her in his home. If convicted, Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison.
In 2005, Cosby sat for a civil deposition in which he admitted to drugging women in order to have sex with them. The notes from the deposition were sealed, but late last year, a judge ruled that Cosby’s statements during the deposition would be admissible in his case. His trial is scheduled to begin June 5, 2017.
