Two days ago, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were cuddling up at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party (see the above photo) and now they’re ruining our dreams of a Hollywood happily ever after.

Yeah, I’m being a bit dramatic… but what the heck gives?
A representative for the couple confirmed that they’re taking a break, but come on. What does a break really mean?
“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” the rep explained, according to Us Weekly.
And that rep is definitely on his/her A-game, because up until yesterday, we were happily thinking all was well in the Bloom-Perry paradise.

Bloom even posted a pic with Perry’s pooch on Instagram just yesterday.
Perhaps the break is less about their love for one another and more about their hectic schedules. Perry is, after all, focusing on her new single, “Chained to the Rhythm,” while Bloom has five movies scheduled to be released in 2017, including the new Pirates of the Caribbean film in which he’ll make his return as the lovable Will Turner.
Bloom has also been busy with his UNICEF ambassador position. He just returned from Diffa, and has been gone overseas for a lot of the new year.
People is reporting there were signs of trouble for the couple beyond their busy schedules. At the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, a source said the two posed for photos, but spent most of their time at the party apart.

So far, neither has commented on the break outside of their rep, but I’m gonna go ahead and say the odds at this point don’t look good.
