My roommate has a complete scorched-earth policy when it comes to exes — she once broke up with a guy and then immediately quit her job without notice and moved across the continent. In most cases, I feel like that might be a tad extreme. In Jennifer Aniston‘s case, it’s probably appropriate.

We’re all aware of poor Aniston’s relationship history. She had a five-year marriage to Brad Pitt that was straight out of a fairy tale, and then Angelina Jolie swooped onto the scene, co-starring with Pitt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Pitt didn’t even have Aniston’s number, but “tracked it down through a tangled web of contacts,” according to Elle. A source told Us Weekly he went to all the trouble just so he could make the mistake most of us grow out of around college: texting his ex.

Aniston, though, has fully moved on and is happily married to Justin Theroux, who, lesbihonest, is no downgrade from Pitt.
