In case you were in need of a little pick-me-up this Monday, here’s one: George Clooney dropped by a nursing home in England over the weekend to visit a major fan named Pat.
“The lady in the picture loves George Clooney and mentions every day how she would love him to meet him, especially as he lives so near to where I work,” a nurse at Sunrise, the nursing home, wrote on Facebook, as Page Six reports. The employee added that letters “have been sent asking would it be possible for her dream to come true.”
Apparently, a few letters to Clooney are enough to lure him in for a visit — at least if you’re turning 87. Clooney is expecting twins with his wife, Amal Clooney, but he’s not too busy for a little meet-and-greet with one of his biggest fans.

What’s more, he was able to drop by on a particularly special week. “What was extra special it was her birthday in the week,” the nurse wrote. “He bought a card and a lovely bunch of flowers.”

“Thanks #GeorgeClooney for visiting #SunriseofSonning and for making Pat, our wonderful resident, so so happy!” Sunrise posted on Twitter.
“He popped in today, while I was on shift,” the nurse added. “We didn’t know he was coming!” Sunrise is near Clooney’s home in England, so he likely was able to arrange the visit while he spent time at his estate.

The nurse experienced “utter shock” when discovering Clooney standing at the front door. “I answered the door, lucky I hadn’t diverted calls on the Dec phone, as someone else could have answered it!!!!”
George and Amal Clooney have been “nesting” in their home in Berkshire, west of London, ahead of the arrival of their twins, as People reports. Clooney said he and his wife were “really excited” about their new home, adding “I love it” in a conversation with Good Morning Britain a couple of years ago. “We’re going to have a great time. There’s a great old pub and there’s a great restaurant, The French Horn, there, and it’s a really beautiful, fun place to be.”
He forgot to mention his excitement about dropping in on random nursing homes, but there you have it. The only thing that could make this story any better is if Amal Clooney had joined her husband on the excursion.
