When Alec Baldwin was cast on Saturday Night Live to play Donald Trump, it made sense. But Sarah Paulson as Donald Trump? I mean, heck, why not?

Leave it to American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy to be plotting a twisted, gender-bending election tale for Season 7 of the anthology series.
Of course, no casting decisions for Season 7 have been made yet, but Paulson spoke to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday and told them that if there were a Trump character being written into the upcoming season — as Murphy has indicated — then she wants the honors.
“If Donald Trump is going to be in a character in it,” she said, then volunteered herself for the part. “Why not? That’s an acting challenge to be sure.”
Paulson has proven in her time on the series that she is more than capable of tackling a challenge. She’s played a two-headed twin, a witch, a dead drug addict, a committed journalist. Why not the winner of the 2016 election?

Or his right-hand woman. See, it turns out, Paulson is having some trouble deciding which character, exactly, she wants to portray in the new season. Because when asked by TV Guide, she swapped her decision to Kellyanne Conway.
“I’d love to play Kellyanne Conway,” Paulson said. “First of all, where is she? We haven’t seen her in a couple weeks. What’s going on?… She was everywhere. We could not get her to shut up. And now, where is she?… Don’t get me wrong. I’m appreciating the silence, the quiet, but I am curious. That’s an American horror story for you: What happened to Kellyanne Conway?”
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter which character Paulson tackles in the new season just as long as she’s in the show.
