Are you all caught up on your Netflix bingeing and ready for more? Well, don’t worry your little head, because Netflix has been investing an increasing amount of energy and money into developing and purchasing original movies and shows after experiencing big successes like Orange Is the New Black, House of Cards and Grace and Frankie. They have literally dozens of new titles coming our way just during 2017, and below we’ve taken a look at 10 movies and series that have piqued our interests, from horror comedies to traditional dramas.

Movie: Sandy Wexler (April 16)
In his third collaboration with Netflix, Adam Sandler plays a 1990s talent manager who makes his living representing an oddball cast of people trying to make it in Los Angeles. His life takes a turn when he falls in love with his new client, a talented singer played by Jennifer Hudson, who he discovers at an amusement park. The movie, written by Sandler, Paul Sado and Dan Bulla, premieres in April.
Series: Girlboss (April 21)
Based on the best-selling autobiography by Sophia Amoruso called #Girlboss, this comedy centers on Amoruso’s climb from a young woman selling clothes on eBay to the multi-millionaire owner of the fashion empire Nasty Gal. The 13 30-minute episodes star Britt Robertson and are created and produced by Kay Cannon, who was also involved in Pitch Perfect and 30 Rock.
Series: Dear White People (April 28)
A continuation of the critically acclaimed 2014 movie of the same name, Dear White People follows a racially diverse group of students trying to find their way at an Ivy League college. The movie’s original screenwriter and director Justin Simien will return to write the 10-episode first season as well as direct the first episode. Logan Browning will play Tessa Thompson’s character in the leading role, while Brandon P. Bell will return to play his character from the movie.
Movie: War Machine (May 26)
Based on Michael Hastings’ best-selling book, The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan, this war satire stars Brad Pitt portraying a character somewhat based on the real-life General Stanley McChrystal. Created by writer-director David Michôd, the movie follows the four-star general’s career, including his quick rise and surprising downfall.
Series: Anne (May 12)
This darker, more complex reboot of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s timeless classic, Anne of Green Gables, takes viewers to Prince Edward Island at the turn of the 20th Century. Starring newcomer Amybeth McNulty as the curious, imaginative redheaded orphan, the eight-part, eight-hour series was written by Emmy Award-winning Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad) and takes a more somber, more realistic view of life in and around Avonlea.
Movie: A Futile & Stupid Gesture (2017)
A bio-flick about comedy writer and National Lampoon founder Doug Kenney in the 1970s and ’80s, this movie stars Will Forte and is based on the 2006 book of the same name written by Josh Karp. Joel McHale will play Chevy Chase in the project, which reportedly recreates multiple scenes from National Lampoon films like Animal House and Caddyshack.
Movie: 6 Balloons (2017)
Written and directed by actress and director Marja-Lewis Ryan, this drama centers on a woman who discovers that her brother has relapsed on heroin while caring for his 2-year-old daughter. The movie stars Broad City‘s Abbi Jacobson as the protagonist and Dave Franco as her troubled brother.

Series: Ozark (2017)
This dark drama stars Jason Bateman, who is also producing and directing the show. It takes place in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, where Bateman’s character and his family relocate from the Chicago suburbs. The financial planner and his wife, played by Laura Linney, then get involved in the drug trade and money laundering. Written by Bill Dubuque (The Judge), the show explores issues that range from capitalism to family dynamics.
Series: Mindhunter (October 2017)
Are you tired of serial killer stuff yet? Nope, we aren’t either. In Mindhunter, investigators interview imprisoned serial killers in attempts to solve active cases. Based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the series features Jonathan Groff (Looking), Holt McCallany (Sully), Anna Torv (Fringe) and Hannah Gross (Unless). The series is produced by Charlize Theron and David Fincher, the later of whom also directs.
Movie: Little Evil (late 2017)
This horror comedy feature, written and directed by Eli Craig (Zombieland), centers on a protagonist played by Adam Scott who has just married the woman of his dreams (Evangeline Lilly). However, he soon discovers that her 6-year-old son might be the Antichrist. The movie was filmed in the fall of 2016 and is expected to hit Netflix in the fall of 2017.
