Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette premieres Monday, and it looks like Season 13 will be a Bachelor Nation show like we’ve never seen before.
Not only is Lindsay the first black Bachelorette in the show’s history, she might also be the most mature star and the most ready to find love that the show has ever seen. At 31, Lindsay is the oldest Bachelorette to lead the show since Trista Sutter, who was also 31 when she took on the title as the first Bachelorette. Lindsay also has a serious career as an attorney and brings a maturity to the show that makes it clear she’s serious about finding a life partner.

Of course, just because Lindsay is serious and mature, that doesn’t mean all of her guys will follow suit. In true Bachelor fashion, there will be tears, laughs and, oh yes, drama.
1. Rumor has it, Lindsay is unhappy
There’s been a disheartening rumor circulating the interwebs that Lindsay is disappointed in her crop of men since they don’t all seem to take the show as seriously as she does. I mean, there’s always going to be some guys in it for the wrong reasons since that amps up the drama, but hopefully, all of these guys aren’t total duds.
2. Chris Harrison introduced the guys
It seems that in an effort to dissuade the rumors that Lindsay’s guys aren’t serious, Chris Harrison himself took to Facebook to personally introduce each of the 31 guys competing for Lindsay’s heart in Season 13. He was sure to use confidence-boosting words like “mature” and “serious” and “older” to ease our fears that ABC had failed Lindsay.
3. Lindsay won’t shy away from talking race
Lindsay told Entertainment Tonight, “With the guys, you know, if it’s something new to them, then I want to talk about it the same way that I [wanted] to talk to Nick about it: ‘Have you ever dated a black woman before?’ I’ll talk about my experiences as well. You know, it’s about me, too, but I don’t want it to be something that defines our relationship. But I think it’s something important to address.”
4. That guy in a penguin suit
The show won’t be all serious discussion. Lindsay will definitely be having some fun along the way, starting on the first night, when one of her suitors, Matt, shows up wearing a penguin suit.
5. There will be a lot of star power
Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Ellen DeGeneres and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will all guest star on Season 13.

6. There will be a lot of man tears
Yes, these guys are strong, confident, successful, good-looking men. But it wouldn’t be The Bachelorette if the show didn’t just completely break some of them. Ouch.
7. Corinne is coming back!
Need I say more? The queen of Nick’s season will be making an appearance to help her girl figure out her man situation. I kinda hope that Corinne is just a constant presence this season, because she excels at making good television.

8. Lindsay actually knows one of her suitors
It a funny, twisty bit of casting, news has gotten out that Lindsay was the camp counselor of one of her suitors when they were younger. Us magazine reported on an exclusive clip of the Bachelorette reunion where Fred, 27, got out of the limo and told Lindsay, “I haven’t seen you or talked to you in over 15 years; it’s good seeing you again Rachel.” Funnily enough, Lindsay revealed in a private interview that Fred was “a bad kid” when they were at camp. Let’s see if he’s turned into a nice guy all these years later.
9. Who to watch out for
Harrison told us to keep an eye out for Peter on night one. First impression rose, perhaps? But I also think Alex, Anthony, Iggy, Diggy and Michael are all guys to keep an eye on this season.
