Per AP‘s constantly updated coverage, at approximately 12:55 p.m. local time (in Manchester), the Islamic State claimed they planted multiple bombs at the concert; police state that “an ‘improvised device’ was used in the attack,” implying only one device was found at the scene. Additionally, the Islamic State used their own jargon to make their intentions appear credible, claiming that “a soldier of the caliphate planted bombs in the middle of Crusaders gatherings,” but they did not comment on the aftermath of the attack.

AP‘s final note in the updated report on these claims from the Islamic State include this: “The group claimed that ’30 Crusaders were killed and 70 others were wounded,’ higher than the totals confirmed by authorities in Manchester.” At time of reporting, there have been 22 people confirmed dead and 59 injured. It is also confirmed through the Greater Manchester Police Department Twitter that a 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack in the early hours on Tuesday morning.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, it was confirmed by her reps that Grande was OK and not much else was revealed about her condition. Reports have also come through via TMZ that Grande has suspended her world tour in the wake of the attack. Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun, gave a statement to TMZ on Grande’s team’s feelings as of Tuesday about this tragic attack: “We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act. We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.”
